finally have some time to really indulge myself into the late Alexander McQueen’s work. it’s really inspiring. def. gives me challenge on myself to be outstanding.
the holographic Kate Moss for his Fall/Winter 2006 show is not as ‘awe-inspiring’ as the other runway concept he had, from having the model being rain-on, to walking in wind tunnel. BUT i do like how the dress/fabric flow and dance around her in a very beautiful, fluid motion. very lovely. tht said, Mr McQueen knows his passion very well. he can see what type of material and what cuts, length, etc etc tht the fabric can be presented splendidly. he makes not only the subject look good in the object, he makes the object looks good in itself. he definitely embrace the beauty of fabric’s folds, cuts, and length.
the Fall/Winter 2008 Womenswear (video) collection is probably the collection i like most. can’t really pick one actually. but…yea. this collection has very wonderful shape for both dresses and suits (is it? sorry guys, i’m NOT familiar with fashion terms…i shall learn more…) the pattern choice is amazing too. love it. the stage looks simple in compare to the holographic Kate Moss, but again, he demonstrated how he understand an object natural beauty, natural aesthetic. amazing.
going back…Spring/Summer 1999 show (video), another amazing one. loved the rotating model and how she becomes a canvas. it seems simple, but considering the dress chosen, it has great volume and folds tht allowed the color to flow and dripped to create its own pattern. genius.

alright. gotta stop. i will definitely look forward to a documentary of his work being done. def. will grab one of it! every fashion show he did was like a theater piece! how i wish i had the chance to view on live!
i heart you Alexander McQueen. you are a great inspiration. i hope to be as great, as creative as you are one day.
